GRAE V4 Ch.3.5, Loose Ends Team GRAE walked back to their dorm with Team VRDE, both teams still excited from their win in the Vytal Tournament’s first round. A group of three girls rounded the corner, talking and laughing loudly. Unaware of their surroundings, they nearly bumped into Greyson.
“Oh, wait! You’re Greyson, right?” The middle girl asked. “The one from the battle yesterday?”
“Yeah, that’s me,” Greyson replied.
“Ohmigoodness! He’s even cuter up close!” The girl to her left declared.
“Can we PLEASE take a picture with you?” The third asked.
“Well, sure. But Azure and I are actually dating, I’m sorry to disappoint,” Greyson said. After some minor protests, the four took a picture.
“Do you know who you’re going to take with you to the second round?” The middle gi
GRAE V4 Ch.3, A Brief Vacation Instantly, years worth of memories came flooding back to Ember’s mind. She met the little blonde haired girl two weeks into second grade. Having noticed Ember always sitting alone, Lissa introduced herself. Ember blew out eight candles, as Lissa grinned in the background. Ember rode her bicycle through the forest with her friend by her side, her long crimson hair flowing behind her in the wind.
She remembered the day her parents did not come home. She remembered lying alone on the bed that night, confused, wondering what she had done wrong. “I tried to be good, why aren’t they coming back?” The police came to her door. Her parents would never be returning home.
Ember spent her time absently, gazing off into nothing. She became prone to fits of anger, lashing out at her only friend. She got detention. She was suspended. Lissa went home with a black eye. Ember was not allowed over anymore. Lissa stayed wi
GRAE V4 Ch.2, GRAE v. GRNT 2 Rusty lashed at Nick several times with Child’s Play, each shot getting smashed aside by his massive hammer. Nick backed off slightly, then transformed his hammer to cannon form, and shot several times at Rusty, who dodged each shot. Rusty threw Child’s Play as hard as possible toward Nick, and the weapon connected.
Nick grunted in pain and spun his hammer around, wrapping Child’s Play. He then spun several times, flinging Rusty straight toward the edge of the stadium.
Azure noticed this, and took a split second to line up a shot with the head of Child’s Play. She took the shot. Child Play’s blades stuck into a rather large tree, stopping Rusty inches before the edge of the arena.
“Woah, thanks Azure! That was ama--”
“Watch it, idiot!” Ember cautioned. She pushed Rusty out of the way of Nick, who had jumped high into the air, aiming to smash down on an
GRAE V4 Ch.1, GRAE v. GRNT Team GRAE sat in their dorm room, the night before the first round of the Vytal tournament. To alleviate the stress as much as possible, Greyson had decided to pretend as if this were a normal Friday night spent indoors. Greyson lay on his side, deep in thought. Azure and Rusty were busy watching a television program while Ember read, as per usual. Kita, out of the hospital for the first time since her arrival in Vale, curiously poked around, marveling at the technology existent in this new world.
“Hey guys! The bracket for tomorrow was posted!” Rusty exclaimed, holding up his scroll.
“Oh? Who are we against?” Greyson questioned, snapping to attention and walking over to Rusty.
“Team... GRNT. I guess they’re from Haven,” Rusty replied.
“Garnett? As in, Vladimir Garnett?” Greyson intensely asked.
“That is his team’s name,
GRAE V3 Ch.12, Conclusion Greyson sat in his usual position while in an airship, one foot on the ground, the other leg crossing over, the ankle resting on the other leg’s knee. His arm was around the back of Azure’s seat beside him, and he looked out the window lazily as Beacon Academy came into view. Greyson’s scroll began to ring.
“Oh, Ozpin’s calling me,” Greyson stated. He picked up the scroll and answered the call.
“Hello, Mister Skye,” Ozpin greeted cordially. “When you land, report to my office as soon as possible. You will be briefing me on the findings of your mission.”
“Understood,” Greyson affirmed. “Is that all?”
“Yes. Have a safe flight back,” Ozpin concluded. The call ended.
“Azure, when we get back, I want you and the others to take Kita to the hospital. I have some business with Ozpin, but I’ll swing
GRAE V3 Ch.11, Redemption. Returning from the battle, Greyson could notice the marks of battle scarring the field surrounding base camp. Though the bodies had already disappeared, the footprints and claw marks suggested a violent battle, dozens of creatures of grimm involved. Azure survived.
Azure! How many grimm came to you?” Greyson asked, entering the door, the rest behind him.
“Oh, just a few. They weren’t hard to get rid of,” Azure humbly replied.
“Just a few? There was a swarm!” Kita interjected from the other room. “Azure fought with the power of the Great Shrouded Fox herself!”
Greyson smiled slightly. “Good job. Had I known there would have been so many coming your way, I would have left more to watch over the base. I apologize.”
“No, you needed all the help you can get over there. You’re bleeding out of your head!” Azure challenged.
GRAE V3 Ch.10, Calamity pt3 Raven’s eyes shot open in excited disbelief. Rusty knelt on top of the aracylla’s head, holding a spike in one hand to steady himself and Child’s Play in the other. The weapon was wrapped around the bright red jaws of the monster, holding them shut above its head. Rusty ripped Child’s Play backward, tearing the deadly pincers from the monster’s head.
Rusty jumped off the aracylla’s back as it recoiled, flipping through the air while using Child’s Play to cut the left three legs from the body, and causing the aracylla to fall to the ground. Rusty then ran to the back of the monster, shredding the abdomen over and over, spinning Child’s Play like a propeller. The aracylla began to disintegrate.
Rusty exhaled. “Wow, I actually did it. Maybe there’s hope for me,” he thought with a smile. “Right. Raven.” He turned to her, picked up her weapons, and used Child
